happy new years (+2 weeks)

happy new years everyone!

my new years eve celebration was full of drunken debauchery and blurred (non)-memories. For those that enjoyed it quietly, well kudos to you too.

speaking of new years, i hope everyone has made some new years resolutions. if anything, its an excuse to better yourself by not doing shit you want to be doing. i know, it sucks, but i suppose its good for you.

as for mine, well its only a few weeks in, but some aren't going so well, but damn, i got like 50 weeks to turn it around.

as for the rest of my life, yay hockey, yay cars, boo having to work on cars, boo spending money on cars, yay for the gym, boo for eating too much and getting fat.

hrm, i'll elaborate at some point in the near future.

i do like to bitch bitch bitch

i dont consider myself to be the most organized person to ever roam the earth (i suppose organized people dont really roam... i bet they stay settled, but i digress...) but i had my entire weekend planned as of about 2 weeks ago. plans quickly became unravelled (i also dont consider myself to be the best speller) but this past weekend ended up being pretty awesome.

i finaaaaaaaaaally got my new wheels and snow tires on, which tore up some of that icy weather we had last week. although my ordeal isnt done yet, i've received 9 wheels via UPS, returned 4 wrong ones, kept 4 correct ones (after receiving 3 which is as good as receiving none) and waiting on the last one to be picked up. the impact gun finally got delivered as well, just in time to change some wheels out and scratch the shit out of the new wheels. as for the miata, the driver's side window is no longer working. the fuse is fine, the connections appear fine, so i really hope i dont need a new window motor. i didnt feel like playing with multimeters today though.

i also had my christmas party at my apartment last friday night, which is the only thing that went as planned. it was incredibly fun, but thats perhaps because i drank way too much red bull and vodka. i didnt get to talk to everyone i wanted to and as host, i probably shouldnt have gotten hammered, but damnit, i think everyone had a good time. brown honda sent me some certificate to pick up a free xmas tree which is fake and tiny, but still good enough to decorate with colored lights, red bull and beer cans and a corona huggie as the star. damn this is a classy apartment.

i got up saturday morning hungover as fuck to spend the day in richmond which turned out to be a good time. i was hungover most of the day and felt like crap and hadnt really planned on going to richmond, but it was worth it to put in some quality time.

happy birthday to all like 45 people i know with birthdays this week, including mom.

i'm just now realizing that a lot of my musings are more complaints. its like the c-ville rant line which by the way is filled with morons and i'm sure 90% of which are joke rants. atleast i hope they are cuz if not, this damn town is full of fucking morons. and yes, i understand the irony of my complaining about the complaints in the rant line. bah fuck this, i need to get my ass to bed.

ha!

pre-thanksgiving

so i know i'm a day early but i wanted to wish everyone reading this... *crickets*... a happy thanksgiving. i will be doing the wholesome family thing and going up to play some blackjack in atlantic city this weekend with all my fellow asians.

on a different note, how does the cook for west main not show up last night? we all tried to take our friend kristy out for her birthday and they closed the kitchen there because the cook didn't show up. on a lighter note, south street on tuesday nights was as lively as ever last night. god i love that place.

lastly, why cant i stop listening to the new audioslave and foo fighters cd's? chris cornell's voice mixed with the rock that is rage against the machine is like mixing red bull and vodka. its one of those few things that takes 1 + 1 and makes it equal 11. and the foo fighters new release? i love the double disc setup of loud and not so loud. especially the dave grohl/norah jones duet.

i'm still getting over my sickness and i'm still taking cold medicine, so please bear with me.

being sick sucks

sorry to have not updated the brog in a couple of weeks. i can reel off a list of excuses, but lets face it, i'm lazy.

so i've come down with something which makes drinking beer very hard. my throat feels like i swallowed a brillo pad. i'll be okay though because i've been mixing nyquil and dayquil a la the critic and everythings alright.

on a completely different note, the racing offseason and visa have obviously agreed to launch a campaign to destroy me. i got my new snow tires (yaaay), new wheels for the suby are coming soon as well as a rollbar and hardtop for the miata. this stuff isnt cheap, folks. i need to cut down my bartabs (cough......) or be more responsible with my budget.

damnit.

the cold sun and some hot music

for a college town, i think the local music scene around here is really lacking great talent. granted, there are quite a few mediocre bands around, but there are very few shows that will make me climb over a mountain of corpses to see. a buddy of mine kept talkin up this guy named Paul Curreri for awhile and so i thought i'd check him out at starr hill last night. holy shit is this guy amazing. his finger picking style and his sound and voice kick ass. from what i understand, this was his first show going electric, so i assume we all heard something new last night, but wow. if you havent seen this guy, go get your pickax and climb that mountain!

on an unrelated note, the sun kicks ass. its fuckin cold out at night, but during the day, a mid to upper 50's day without a cloud in the sky makes the recent purchase of my convertible sooooo worth it. if you see some idiot with a silver miata driving around with the top down while all the pedestrians are bundled up with scarves and hats, yeah that would be me. feel free to wave, or hold out a cup of hot chocolate or give me one of those scarves that world war II pilots used to wear.

thus concludes post #2 of my bRog. i apologize for the precious few minutes you will never get back by reading this.

i took a few hours off from work because i've got a hangover from hell. damn you south street brewery. your beer is delicious and it ruins my wednesdays.

i'd write more, but my head no feels good. i just wanted to get things started because it seems like there are some interesting things to be found on cvilleblogs.com and i wanted to join in on all the fun.
